00SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 328(FIN) 01 "An Act allowing motor vehicle registration and licensing fees to be paid by 02 credit card." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 28.10.421(a) is amended to read: 05 (a) Unless otherwise provided by law, 06 (1) the fees prescribed in this section shall be paid to the department 07 at the times provided under AS 28.10.108 and 28.10.111; [AND] 08 (2) an additional fee of $10 shall be added to the registration fee set 09 out in this section for registration not conducted by mail; the department may waive 10 this additional fee for a good cause based on criteria established in regulations adopted 11 by the department; and 12 (3) the department shall establish procedures that allow the fees 13 prescribed in this section to be paid by credit card, including credit card payment 14 authorized by telephone; in addition to the other fees prescribed in this section,
01 a fee of $5 shall be collected if payment is made by telephone under this 02 paragraph. 03 * Sec. 2. AS 28.15.271 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 04 (e) The department shall establish procedures that allow the fees prescribed in 05 this section to be paid by credit card, including credit card payment authorized by 06 telephone. In addition to the other fees prescribed in this section, a fee of $5 shall be 07 collected if payment is made by credit card.
