01 "An Act relating to fees for a commercial fishing vessel license."                                                      
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  INTENT.  It is the intent of the legislature that the revenue generated by this                        
04 Act be appropriated to the Department of Fish and Game for the management, rehabilitation,                              
05 enhancement, development, and scientific study of the commercial fishery resources of the                               
06 state.                                                                                                                  
07    * Sec. 2.  AS 16.05.530(a) is amended to read:                                                                       
08  (a)  Upon payment of a license fee [OF $20] for one year, or [$40] for two                                          
09 years at the option of the owner, and filing of the name and address of the owner of                                    
10 the vessel or the owner's authorized agent, the name and number of the vessel, a                                        
11 description of the vessel, vessel license number, if any, the area to be fished, and other                              
12 reasonable information required by the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, the                                       
13 commission shall issue a number plate and a vessel license.  If the vessel has a number                                 
14 plate, the commission shall issue a vessel license and tab designating the year or years                                

01 the license is valid.  The tab shall be placed in the space provided on the permanent                                   
02 number plate. The license fee for two years is twice the annual license fee.  The                                      
03 annual license fee is set according to the overall length, as defined by the United                                     
04 States Coast Guard, of the vessel under the following schedule:                                                         
05   (1)  0 - 25 feet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $20

11    * Sec. 3.  APPLICABILITY.  The vessel license fees established under this Act are                                    
12 applicable to vessel licenses for 1994 and subsequent years that are issued after the effective                         
13 date of this Act.
