01 "An Act requiring surety bonds for providers of personal care services under the state                                  
02 medical assistance program; and providing for an effective date."                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 47.07 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 47.07.044. Surety bonds for providers of personal care services. The                                  
06       department shall require a provider of personal care services to file a surety bond in an                         
07       amount determined by the department by regulation.                                                                
08    * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                          
09 read:                                                                                                                   
10       TRANSITION: REGULATIONS. The Department of Health and Social Services may                                         
11 adopt regulations necessary to implement the changes made by this Act. The regulations take                             
12 effect under AS 44.62 (Administrative Procedure Act), but not before the effective date of                              
13 sec. 1 of this Act.                                                                                                     
14    * Sec. 3. Section 2 of this Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
