00 HOUSE BILL NO. 363 01 "An Act designating the official state bolt-action rifle." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03  * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 04 to read: 05 LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS. To be an Alaskan during the period 1930 to 1963 meant 06 carrying the "rifleman's rifle," the Winchester pre-1964 Model 70. This was the bolt-action 07 rifle that helped Alaska men and women establish a firm foothold in the untamed and often 08 wild Alaska wilderness. Because of the historical significance of the Winchester pre-1964 09 Model 70, the legislature selects the Winchester pre-1964 Model 70 as the official state bolt- 10 action rifle. 11  * Sec. 2. AS 44.09 is amended by adding a new section to read: 12 Sec. 44.09.150. State bolt-action rifle. The pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 13 bolt-action rifle in the following calibers is the official state bolt-action rifle: .22 14 Hornet, .220 Swift, .243 Winchester, .250-3000 Savage, .264 Winchester Magnum, 15 .257 Roberts, .270 W.C.F., 7 mm, .300 Savage, .30-06, .300 H&H Magnum, .308 01 Winchester, .358 Winchester, .35 Remington, .375 H&H Magnum, .338 Winchester 02 Magnum, .458 Winchester Magnum.
