00                    SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 7                                                                   
01 Endorsing the ongoing efforts of the administration to review and revise program                                        
02 regulations with the objective of streamlining the exploratory oil and gas process.                                     
03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04       WHEREAS a series of regulatory reforms and investment, tax, and exploration                                     
05 incentives initiated by the Murkowski administration since December 2002 has enhanced the                               
06 attractiveness of exploration, production, and development of a range of the state's mineral                            
07 extractive industries, especially with reference to the state's oil and gas industry; and                               
08       WHEREAS the continued attention to the revision of permitting processes is                                      
09 especially critical in order to promote the exploration for and development of new fields and                           
10 smaller marginal accumulations of oil and gas;                                                                          
11       BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature endorses the ongoing efforts of                              
12 the administration to review and revise program regulations with the objective of streamlining                          
13 the exploratory oil and gas process.
