00                             SENATE BILL NO. 290                                                                         
01 "An Act relating to the continuation of pay and benefits to employees of public                                         
02 corporations called to active duty; and providing for an effective date."                                               
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 39.20.345 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                          
05            (d)  In this section, "state employee" includes an employee of a public                                      
06       corporation except a public corporation that is completely exempt from AS 39.25                                   
07       (State Personnel Act).                                                                                            
08    * Sec. 2.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
09 read:                                                                                                                   
10       RETROACTIVITY.  This Act is retroactive to September 11, 2001.                                                  
11    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
