01 "An Act changing the name of the Department of Community and Economic                                                   
02 Development to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic                                                      
03 Development."                                                                                                           
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                         
06 to read:                                                                                                                
07       PURPOSE.  The purpose of this Act is to change the name of the Department of                                      
08 Community and Economic Development to the Department of Commerce, Community, and                                        
09 Economic Development.                                                                                                 
10    * Sec. 2.  AS 44.17.005(8) is amended to read:                                                                     
11                 (8)  Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic                                            
12       Development                                                                                                       
13    * Sec. 3.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
14 read:                                                                                                                   
01       REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.  (a)  Wherever in the Alaska Statutes and the Alaska                                       
02 Administrative Code the terms "Department of Community and Economic Development" or                                     
03 "commissioner of community and economic development" are used, they shall be read,                                      
04 respectively, as "Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development" and                                      
05 "commissioner of commerce, community, and economic development" when to do so would                                     
06 be consistent with the purpose of this Act.                                                                             
07       (b)  Under AS 01.05.031, the revisor of statutes shall implement this section in the                              
08 statutes, and, under AS 44.62.125(b)(6), the regulations attorney shall implement this section                          
09 in the administrative code.
