01 "An Act changing the name of the Department of Community and Economic                                                   
02 Development to the Department of Commerce and Economic Development."                                                    
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                         
05 to read:                                                                                                                
06       PURPOSE.  The purpose of this Act is to change the name of the Department of                                      
07 Community and Economic Development to the Department of Commerce and Economic                                           
08 Development.                                                                                                          
09    * Sec. 2.  AS 44.17.005(8) is amended to read:                                                                     
10                 (8)  Department of Commerce [COMMUNITY] and Economic                                                
11       Development                                                                                                       
12    * Sec. 3.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                         
13 read:                                                                                                                   
14       REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.  (a)  Wherever in the Alaska Statutes and the Alaska                                       
01 Administrative Code the terms "Department of Community and Economic Development" or                                     
02 "commissioner of community and economic development" are used, they shall be read,                                      
03 respectively, as "Department of Commerce and Economic Development" and "commissioner                                    
04 of commerce and economic development" when to do so would be consistent with the                                        
05 purpose of this Act.                                                                                                    
06       (b)  Under AS 01.05.031, the revisor of statutes shall implement this section in the                              
07 statutes, and, under AS 44.62.125(b)(6), the regulations attorney shall implement this section                          
08 in the administrative code.
