01 "An Act authorizing the commissioner of fish and game to award grants for habitat                                       
02 restoration or enhancement projects; and providing for an effective date."                                              
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 16.05 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
05            Sec. 16.05.085.  Grant authority.  The commissioner may award grants from                                  
06       federal funds, other than funds received under the federal Pittman - Robertson and                                
07       Dingell - Johnson/Wallop - Breaux programs, for habitat restoration or enhancement                                
08       projects.  The commissioner may adopt regulations to implement this section.                                      
09   * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2001.
