00 HOUSE CS FOR CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 316(JUD) am H 01 "An Act relating to commercial fishing penalties." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 16.05.710 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 04  (e) The Department of Public Safety shall compile and maintain a list of 05 persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony violation of a commercial fishing law 06 of this state within the preceding 10 years. The list must contain a record of all 07 misdemeanor and felony convictions of commercial fishing laws of this state within 08 the preceding 10 years for each person on the list. The list is a public record and is 09 available to the public. 10 * Sec. 2. AS 16.05.722(a) is amended to read: 11  (a) A person who without any culpable mental state violates AS 16.05.440 - 12 16.05.690, or a regulation of the Board of Fisheries or the department governing 13 commercial fishing, is guilty of a violation and upon conviction is punishable by a fine 14 of not more than 01  (1) $6,000 [$3,000] for a first conviction; and 02  (2) $12,000 [$6,000] for a second or subsequent conviction.
